It was written by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett and appears on the album ReLoad as a sequel to "The Unforgiven" (which appears on the album Metallica). Both .

From the thrash of Ride the Lightning to the baroque song-suites of And Justice for All, from the blockbuster ballads of Metallica to the hard-rock revival of Load, they've synthesized their past while pushing into the future. More than just help invent metal, the band grew with it, exploring just about every variable of playing fast and loud.
  4. Ganos says:
Yeah, so James doesnt growl out the lyrics anymore, so what. There are still 9 solid songs on this album and they rock. I wouldnt rate this album a 5 but its a definite 4. Give it a few listens before you dismiss it as un-metallica-worthy. Did people compare Revolver to Sgt. Peppers? Probably, but you know what? Theyre both great albums.

Metallica – commonly known as the “Black Album”, is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band METALLICA. It wasn’t an easy production. The band had a new producer – Bob Rock. The members of METALLICA did not get along with him at all, but in the end, METALLICA became a monster hit, debuting at number ONE in TEN countries and remaining on Billboard’s top album charts Missing: The Unforgiven.

The Unforgiven Lyrics: New blood joins this Earth and quickly he's subdued / Through constant pained disgrace, the young boy learns their rules / With time the child draws in this whipping boy.

Apr 29,  · Two weeks before Metallica started work on their world-conquering fifth album, Lars handed James a cassette they called The Riff Tape. The Riff Tape did exactly what it said on the tin – it was a collection of riffs that James, Kirk and Jason had made during the odd nights of their recent And Justice For All tour. Its contents would form the basis of Metallicaʼs next studio.
